Adjacent to the Arkansas River, Cyrus Avery Centennial Plaza is an iconic stop along Historic Route 66 in northern Oklahoma in Tulsa. The plaza commemorates Cyrus Stevens Avery – known as the "Father of Route 66."
Completed in 2008, Cyrus Avery Centennial Plaza is located at the intersection of Southwest Boulevard and Riverside Drive.
Eight state flags – representing all states found along Route 66 – are showcased on the grounds, as well as the 20,000-pound bronze sculpture titled “East Meets West.”
