89er Days Celebration

Celebrating the Oklahoma Territory Land Run from April 22, 1889, this annual April festival is held in Guthrie.

Events are found at the Logan County Fairgrounds – the site of the initial settlement and capitol in the great plains region. The Old-Timer Baseball Game and the Auction of 89er items are highlights of the festival.

A non-profit organization, the Guthrie Gunfighters, Inc. is an Old West and Victorian Era reenactment group located in Guthrie in Oklahoma's Great Plains.

Established in 1993, the Guthrie Gunfighters are a great example of the American West of the 1800s.

The Guthrie Gunfighters perform everywhere from the Saturday Farmers Market, to the corner in front of the Blue Belle Saloon, to even private events and festivals throughout Oklahoma.

Guthrie Historic District

Set in downtown Guthrie, the Guthrie Historic District includes a variety of historic sites. Known as Oklahoma's Magic CityGuthrie was Oklahoma's capital until 1910, when the title moved to Oklahoma City.

The Historic District is comprised of more than 2,100 buildings in 1,400 acres of land. Step aboard the First Capital Trolley in the Historic District to hear a wonderful narrated tour of the area.

Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the Carnegie Library, built in 1902, is Oklahoma's oldest Carnegie Library in existence. The Library is included in the Guthrie Museum Complex. Visit this Renaissance Revival style library to view the Rotunda and the intricately carved wood throughout the rooms.

Oklahoma State University
