Universities in OKC
Explore OKC's Top Universities
As OK's cultural linchpin, the greater Oklahoma City area is no stranger to bustling college campuses and those oh-so unique college experiences.
Year round, take a journey through OKC and its surrounding suburbs and tour any one of the region’s five universities.
Of course, the the city's most well known university isn’t even in OKC – the University of Oklahoma is set on a 3,000-acre campus in Norman, an OKC suburb.
That shouldn’t stop you from exploring Oklahoma’s largest university – campus highlights include the Fred Jones Jr. Museum of Art and the Sam Noble Oklahoma Museum of Natural History. Clearly, a campus tour is jam-packed with discovery.
Sports fans, don’t miss Sooner football at Gaylord Family Oklahoma Memorial Stadium, or catch baseball at the L. Dale Mitchell Baseball Park and basketball at the Lloyd Noble Center. The UO Sooners take on all comers in the Southeastern Conference.
Just north of Norman, OKC proper features a collection of outstanding schools, including Mid-American Christian University, Oklahoma State University - OKC, and the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center. A branch of the University of Oklahoma, UOHSC specializes in medicine and is one of only four such health centers in the United States.
Located in the uptown district, the aptly named Oklahoma City University enrolls nearly 4,000 students across its 104-acre urban campus. The campus sits in the heart of OKC – the Oklahoma State Capitol, the Paseo Arts District, and the Plaza District all can be found nearby.
