Visiting Greater Oklahoma City
It’s the season for events, fun and festivals in and around Oklahoma’s capital city. Start summer at a classic Sooner State event, the Chisholm Trail Round-Up Crawfish Festival on June 1st in Yukon, 20 miles west of OKC on I-40. Enjoy a classic American Fourth of July in Edmond, 15 miles north of downtown. The 2013 Edmond LibertyFest runs June 22nd through July 4th and features a parade, fireworks and entertainment. Close out the season in Stillwater at the 2013 Payne county Free Fair August 26th through August 31st. From Guthrie and Norman to El Reno and Seminole, travel greater Oklahoma City this season.
Baseball season is here in Oklahoma City. Fans fill Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark, east of downtown OKC, as the hometown Redhawks host minor league baseball action. Look for Fireworks Fridays and $1 Beer Nights on the schedule to enjoy a summer of fun in Bricktown.
Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark also hosts the 2013 Big 12 Baseball Championship May 22nd through May 26th. The double-elimination tournament ends with the championship game on Sunday. See top college baseball teams battle through two four-team brackets as Oklahoma City hosts its ninth straight season championship.
The NCAA Division I 2013 Women’s College World Series takes place May 30th through June 5th. Hosted by the University of Oklahoma and the Oklahoma City All Sports Association, the 2013 NCAA Division I Softball Championship is held at the ASA Hall of Fame Stadium. Join the celebration as the NCAA Women’s College World Series reaches the milestone of 1 million fans along with the Fan Festival featuring autograph sessions, activities and championship merchandise.
Downtown Oklahoma City’s Cox Convention Center hosts the 27th annual Red Earth Festival. Bringing art enthusiasts to experience award winning Native American visual art and dance, The 2013 Red Earth Festival runs June 7th through 9th. Join crowds in downtown Oklahoma on Friday for the festival parade and fill downtown streets with the spirit of Oklahoma’s Native American tribes.
El Reno, the heart of Oklahoma’s Canadian County, hosts the 2013 Canadian County Free Fair August 21st through 25. A visit to the fair is a summer must and the five-day El Reno fair has live entertainment, amusement rides, and exhibitions. Make your summer complete at the Canadian County Free Fair.

The rockers, who rose to prominence at the turn of this century as they helped usher in a new, popular blend of hip hop and metal, will recall the era at the Diamond Ballroom in Oklahoma City. The show starts at 8:30 P.M.
2013 NCAA Division I Women’s College World Series
Complete with a fan festival featuring autograph sessions, activities and vendors selling championship merchandise, the series takes place at ASA Hall of Fame Stadium in Oklahoma City. First pitch times vary per game.

Charlie Christian International Music Festival
Venues across downtown Oklahoma City fill with jazz, blues, western and gospel music during this four-day festival. Events include a battle of the bands, jazz cruises and jam sessions and vendors will be offering a array of food and arts and crafts.
Red Earth Parade
Part of the larger Red Earth Native American Cultural Festival, this parade will march representatives of over 100 tribes through the streets of downtown Oklahoma City. The parade begins at 10 A.M. and festivities go throughout the day.
2013 Edmond LibertyFest
Featuring a parade and fireworks, the festival provides Edmond with a classic Fourth of July experience. The two-week event was selected as one of the top 10 places in America to be on July 4th by CNN and USA Today.

2013 Canadian County Free Fair
A classic county fair, this event offers five days of amusement rides, live entertainment, vendors and exhibitions at the Canadian County Fairgrounds in El Reno. Gate opening times vary daily.
